Intervals: 4×800 in 2:45-2:55 w/2:20 rest
Weather: 39 degrees – cloudy, windy, wet
Averaged about 2:49 on the 800s, so I really can’t complain. I’m thinking that in order for me to reach my goal in January, this workout has to become 6×800 in 2:45-2:55 w/0:20 rest. I’ll need to be able to do it somewhat comfortably the last week of December. That’s about race pace (5:40/mile) in regular shoes (as opposed to racing shoes).
It’s getting cold out there. This is what I was concerned about in Columbus. Needed to make something good happen here, and I did. Left ankle and heel not feeling 100%, so it will be good to rest tonight and tomorrow. Otherwise, great workout.
